Opening Keynote Speaker

Lilly Ledbetter

Pay Equity Trailblazer

Equal Pay for Equal Work

Though some employers have attempted to adhere to equal pay laws, most have never been fully enforced. No one can tell this story like Lilly Ledbetter. This talk is about the devastation of unequal pay for equal work. Hear how her Supreme Court battle illuminated the issue and how it moved -- and did not move -- the needle. She will examine the effect that unequal pay has on both the employee and the employer, and to the local economy. Equal treatment of employees results in better service, better products, and a larger bottom net profit.

Closing Keynote Speaker

Judy Shepard

Human Rights Advocate & Mother of Matthew Shepard

The Legacy of Matthew Shepard

Inclusivity and respect go hand-in-hand with equal rights and workplace equity. We are honored that Judy Shepard, Human Rights Advocate and mother of Matthew Shepard, will bring her story to the Workplace Equity Forum. Speaking from a mother’s perspective, Judy Shepard has made the prevention of hate crimes the focus of her efforts, and urges her audiences to make their schools, workplaces and communities safer for everyone, regardless of their race, sex, religion, or gender identity and/or expression.

WorldatWork is a global leader in elevating equality in the world of work. Equity in the workplace has become, with good reason, the rallying cry across all industries, organizations and workforces and in society at large. What has recently been addressed primarily as a pay-based issue has evolved into a more complex and multifaceted conversation. It’s one that addresses all of the elements of Total Rewards to ensure every worker, every under-represented group – regardless of gender, race, age, religion and sexual identity – has the same access to true workplace equity.

Today’s workforce is interested in an organizational culture that affords everyone, regardless of personal attributes, fair rewards and unhindered access to development and growth opportunities. This diverse and inclusive work environment successfully engages workforces and enables an organization to perform at the highest level. This enablement is delivered through more motivated employees, higher retention, lower absences, a greater range of intellectual capital and a more successful ability to attract the best talent and equitable pay programs are a byproduct.

What to expect at the Forum:

Design your own Forum experience with three tracks that explore the path to workplace equity by:

  • Assessing and addressing pay equity
  • Resolving underlying issues that are a barrier to equity
  • Transforming and delivering an inclusive and thriving organizational culture

Who attends?

You’ll find peers responsible for compensation and Total Rewards at various levels, from leaders to individual contributors, plus CHROs, consultants, diversity and inclusion pros, HR generalists and business partners, recruiters, HR tech professionals and data analysts.
