Course of Study

During this intensive five-week program, this immersion approach provides a foundation in executive compensation concepts and trends on the following essential executive compensation topics:

  • Five elements of an executive compensation program

  • U.S. accounting, tax, legal and regulatory considerations

  • Short-term and long-term incentive plan design concepts and appropriate use of performance measures

  • Supplemental executive benefits and perquisites

  • Strategic perspective: judgment, ethics and a career in executive compensation

  • Advanced concepts in executive compensation

  • Proxy and compensation discussion and analysis (CD&A)

In the first online meeting, you will meet your cohort and be a part of an active discussion about executive rewards that will lay the foundation for the Executive Compensation Immersion Program.

To kick off your in-person week, a Welcome Reception will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. This informal get-together is optional and provides an opportunity to meet program leaders and members of your cohort. The location of the reception will be shared prior to the event.

During the first two days you will concentrate on the fundamental principles of executive rewards, including strategy, U.S. taxation and regulations, short-term and long-term incentive strategies and plan design, and performance measures.

On the third day, you will learn about judgment, ethics, and the ins-and-outs of a career in executive rewards. A networking event will be held that evening, allowing time for further discussion and a bit of relaxation.

On the fourth and fifth days, you will focus on supplemental benefits, perquisites and determining pay.

A: This is a five-week program, starting with a one-hour, live online meeting the first week.

The second week of the program will bring all participants together for an intensive week of face-to-face education and networking. Participants will have homework assignments each night during this week.

For week three through five live online meetings, the participant may have pre-work assignments related to the coming week's topic.

After the program ends, follow-up conference calls will be facilitated where participants can reconnect with peers and subject-matter experts to discuss their real-life challenges, solutions and current hot topics in executive compensation.

A: Cancellation/refund policy and terms are:

A participant may cancel their registration and receive a full refund of all monies paid to date if the cancellation notification is received 45 days prior to the Executive Compensation Immersion Program (ECIP) online portal access date as noted on the registration receipt.

If a participant cancels less than 45 days prior to the ECIP online portal access date, 50% of registration fees will be refunded.

Once access to the ECIP online portal has been provided (one week prior to the first online meeting), program fees become nonrefundable if registration is cancelled.

Q: Is there a transfer of registration policy?

A: Yes. We can transfer your registration, however there will be a 25% penalty applied due to the request being outside of the 45-day policy.

If a participant wishes to transfer their registration to the next available Executive Compensation Immersion Program (ECIP) offered by WorldatWork, there will be no transfer penalty if the request is received 45 days prior to the ECIP online portal access date as noted on the registration receipt.

If the registration transfer is requested less than 45 days prior to the ECIP online portal access date, there will be a penalty of 25% of the program registration fee; the remaining balance will then be applied to the next program start date or refunded within one year of the original program start date.

Registration transfer requests received less than 15 days prior to the ECIP online portal access date, will forfeit a penalty of 50% of the total registration fee. Once online portal access is granted, requests for transfer will not be accepted.

Q: Do you accept a waitlist?

A: Yes. When an Executive Compensation Immersion Program (ECIP) is filled a waitlist will be started. In order to secure a spot on the ECIP waitlist, participants must pay the full program registration amount.

A participant's spot on the waitlist will be determined by the order in which their full payment is received. As a cancellation occurs and a spot opens in the program, the first person on the waitlist will be contacted.

If the waitlist registrant can no longer attend, they may choose to shift their registration to the next available ECIP program or receive a full refund, and the next person on the waitlist will be notified.
