Manuscript Reviewer

Manuscript Reviewers provide technical feedback to WorldatWork editors on manuscripts submitted for publication consideration, including member periodicals (both print and digital), books and other thought leadership pieces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide written constructive feedback of the submitted work, including reviewing for accuracy, relevance, timeliness and reader takeaways.
  • Provide clarification on feedback, when requested.
  • Possibly review multiple versions of an article or publication, as necessary.
  • Work with WorldatWork’s publications team to provide all required information within established deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one-year membership with WorldatWork desired.
  • WorldatWork certification/designation preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of topic area, with a minimum of two to five years of experience.
  • Writing and/or editing experience preferred, but not required.

Time Commitment:

  • Reviewers should expect to review a minimum of one article per quarter. (Additional opportunities may be available.)
  • Materials can range from 500-word e-newsletter articles to several thousand-word book manuscripts.
  • Typical review periods are from one to six weeks, depending on manuscript length, and a rating sheet is provided to assist in the evaluation process.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Develop a relationship with the WorldatWork editors in which you become a go-to expert for ideas and information.
  • Receive recertification credit in the WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals, if applicable.
