David Buckmaster is a Head of Total Rewards and author of Fair Pay: How to Get a Raise, Close the Wage Gap, and Build Stronger Businesses. Buckmaster has worked with business leaders on pay projects all over the world, at companies like NIKE and Starbucks. In 2018, Buckmaster was named to the global shortlist of the Financial Times and McKinsey & Company Bracken Bower Prize for emerging business writers. His book has received a starred review from Publisher's Weekly and has been nominated for multiple Best of 2021 awards.

Gail Greenfield
Executive VP of Pay Equity and Total Rewards Strategy and Solutions at Trusaic
Ph.D.

Gail Greenfield is an eminent pay equity expert who has recently joined Trusaic as Executive Vice President of Pay Equity and Total Rewards Strategy and Solutions.

With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in developing data-driven strategies to promote workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gail's career includes roles at Oracle and Warner Brothers Discovery, and she has a rich history at Mercer, where she testified before Congress on diversity and inclusion.

Her insights on pay equity have been featured in major media outlets, and she is a respected speaker at industry events. Gail holds a PhD in economics from Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor's degree in business economics.

Katie Bardaro
Chief Customer Officer at Syndio

Katie Bardaro is one of the country’s leading experts on the intersection of pay equity, data analytics, and labor economics. As Syndio’s Chief Customer Officer, Katie possesses more than a decade of experience in compensation data, statistical analytics, and public speaking. She has provided pay equity analyses and commentary for the nation’s top business and financial outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Economist, CNBC, CNNMoney, USA Today, Forbes, and Business Insider. She reads these publications voraciously over coffee whenever she’s not traveling to be a featured speaker at international events such as Montreal’s C2, multiple World at Work Events, and the 100% Talent Wage Gap Summit.

 Prior to her tenure at Syndio, Katie was the Vice President of Data Analytics at Payscale where she provided groundbreaking thought leadership and research on compensation to media, customers, consumers and research outlets all across the country. Before that, she took it easy and taught macro and microeconomics at the University of Washington.

A passionate economist, data nerd, and mom, Katie is willing to travel far and wide in the pursuit of improving equity in the workplace. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the College of Holy Cross and a Masters of Science in Economics from the University of Washington.

Margret Vilborg Bjarnadottir
Founder of PayAnalytics

Dr. Margret Vilborg Bjarnadottir is an Associate Professor of Management Science and Statistics at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Over the past few years, Margret has focused in part on people analytics and the pay gap in particular. In 2016 she co-founded PayAnalytics to apply data analytics to eliminate the gender pay gap. PayAnalytics changes how organizations measure, and more importantly, closes the gender pay gap by arming HR managers with quantitative decision-making tools.

Her work on pay equity has been covered by outlets such as Harvard Business Review, Forbes, BBC, HR magazine, and others. Most recently she was awarded the GWIIN - overall inventor innovator platinum award for her innovative approach to addressing pay equity, and last year she was named the University Woman of the Year in Iceland for the impact of her pay equity work.

Dr. Bjarnadottir holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Iceland and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  

Ruth Thomas
Chief Evangelist and Pay Equity Strategist

As a co-founder at Curo Compensation, Ruth pioneered the use of SaaS technology to transform traditional approaches to reward and drive fair pay.

Following Curo’s acquisition by Payscale in 2021, Ruth now provides strategic thought leadership in her role as Chief Product Evangelist. With over 30 years of international expertise in the management of compensation processes and the design of pay and benefit structures, salary progression systems and management incentive plans, her corporate experience includes Lloyds TSB Group, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Dow Jones Group and Credit Suisse.

Ruth has been a leading voice in the campaign for pay equity.

Sabina Mehmood
Pay Equity Leader at Gapsquare by XpertHR

Sabina is responsible for leading Gapsquare’s collaborative efforts to support pay equity and beyond across the US market. Her role leverages her past experiences as the Global Product Manager of Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index (GEI), Gapsquare’s collective network of subject matter experts, and collaboration with ally organizations sharing a commitment to equality.

Sabina is committed to supporting both corporations and impact investors on their paths to equity in the workplace, with a firm belief that data-driven solutions are a critical foundation for progress.
