Alison Avalos
Director, Research and Certification Management | WorldatWork
Alison Avalos, is director of membership and total rewards strategy for WorldatWork. She forms and implements strategies for the member value proposition and total rewards practice area, and oversees work on various member resources including the WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey, other research and the online community. Avalos contributes to the development of written and multimedia content for WorldatWork members and customers, and conducts on-site event moderation and on-screen video interviews.
Prior to her current position at WorldatWork, Avalos has been responsible for certification management, various projects to deliver total rewards content to members, primarily through online delivery and features, and directly managing the data collection, analysis, report writing and delivery of the WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey. She also served as a human resources knowledge adviser where she provided research assistance to professional members as an experienced practitioner in compensation, benefits and work-life.
Her career experience prior to WorldatWork includes human resources positions with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Phoenix, as well as marketing management experience with Rainbow Fields Sports Complex in Modesto, Calif.
Avalos has 20 years of experience working in the human resources field, and has authored multiple survey reports, white papers and workspan articles. She has been interviewed for her expertise in total rewards and salary budgets by The Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer, Calgary Herald, US Banker and other print publications, as well as several radio stations. She speaks regularly on compensation, recognition, and total rewards topics at WorldatWork events and HR conferences.
