About the Event

The WorldatWork 2020 Workplace Equity Forum will include plenary and breakout sessions, structured networking, interaction with vendors in an expo hall setting and technology demos.

Speakers will be selected who can help attendees:

  • Elevate their knowledge of, and skillset to address, one of the most pressing societal issues of the day
  • Hone their strategic thinking on workplace and pay equity initiatives
  • Discover how others are tackling the same difficult challenges they face
  • Enhance their knowledge of the latest techniques, analyses and remediation strategies
  • Gain the confidence and credibility to lead a cross-functional approach to establish an equitable workplace
  • Interact with top solutions providers
  • Build their professional networks.

Who attends?

Professionals responsible for compensation and Total Rewards at various levels, from leaders to individual contributors, plus CHROs, consultants, diversity and inclusion pros, HR generalists and business partners, recruiters, HR tech professionals and data analysts.

How many tracks and sessions will there be?

Three learning tracks and approximately 20 sessions will explore the path to workplace equity:

  1. Assessing and addressing pay equity
  2. Resolving underlying issues that are a barrier to equity
  3. Transforming and delivering an inclusive and thriving organizational culture

How long are the sessions?

The event will feature sessions that are 30 and 60 minutes. Each submission must specify one session format.

  • 30-minute: Power Half Hour (Video is required with ALL Power Half Hour session submissions.)
    • These sessions have a higher entertainment value and include zero or very few slides/visual aids. These quick talks work well for sharing a personal story, experience or perspective that will translate into a moving experience for the attendee, compelling the audience to ask a big question of themselves, challenging conventional thought through a powerful narrative, etc. These half-hour sessions require big personalities with stage appeal, those who are dynamic enough to command an audience in the hundreds and deliver a powerful talk on a topic that is relevant to the audience. Ideally one speaker; two maximum. As with all sessions, no selling or lead generation activities will be permitted.
  • 60-minute: presentation, panel, debate, table talk, etc.
    • These are speaker-led presentations followed by time for questions and answers. They will provide innovative, forward-thinking concepts and perspectives related to pay equity and workplace equity, with thought-leadership and practical solutions aimed at the Total Rewards professional. These programs cover emerging trends in the profession including global and future-of-work topics.

We are looking for fresh, original and current content; please, no replays of prior webinars or other presentations.

Relevant Topics

Successful proposals are based on a relevant topic, concept or idea, and not on products, services or proprietary information.

How does WorldatWork select content?

Our submission process is very competitive. We use a content advisory committee to review and score proposals and to determine selections based on the proposal and speaker priorities mentioned previously.

The abstract and learning objectives that you provide are critical to the selection process. The committee relies on this information to understand exactly what will be delivered to attendees.

Speaker information is essential, to understand the speaking style, professional expertise and diversity of perspective that will be part of the session.

When will I hear if WorldatWork accepted or declined my proposal?

Acceptance and decline emails will be sent by May 25, 2020.

If WorldatWork accepts my proposal, what are my speaker benefits?

Speaker benefits include visibility and recognition as a thought leader, and the opportunity to help peers bring best-in-class solutions to their workplaces. You will receive a complimentary event registration so you can attend all sessions and meals and network with peers during event.

In addition, if you’re a practitioner, academic or nonprofit organization representative, WorldatWork will cover the costs of up to a two-night stay at a host hotel. (Consultants and service providers are not eligible for lodging reimbursement.) No other expenses will be reimbursed.

However, we do not give special preference to individuals, consulting firms, vendors, companies or sponsors. Through fair sourcing of objective content, we address our stakeholders’ most important needs. It is how we maintain WorldatWork as the leader in Total Rewards and advance the impact that Total Rewards professionals have on their organizations, communities and society-at-large.

Sell Your Session: Pack the Room

Speakers must provide a marketing abstract (100 words) that succinctly summarizes the session. This abstract will appear on the event website. Entice people to attend with clever titles and appealing descriptions. All abstracts are subject to internal editing by WorldatWork.

Proposal and Session Selection

You are invited to submit as many proposals for the event as you wish.

Some may choose to submit many proposals because they have broad experience and expertise to share. This approach is beneficial, as it provides the selection committee with more choice and options to fit the submission into the event. However, the quantity of submissions will not influence the final number of selected proposals from any one organization or presenter.

Generally, speakers will be limited to one concurrent session to invite diverse perspectives. Exceptions may be made at WorldatWork’s discretion.

Speaker Commitment

It is an honor to be selected as a speaker at our event, and the expectation is that you will stay to learn, interact and network for the duration. Before you submit a proposal to speak, please make sure all speakers are available and holding the event dates on their calendars.
