The Journal of Total Rewards (JTR) is a peer-reviewed publication that provides substantive, research-based compensation, total rewards and benefits insights. The Journal is produced quarterly and offers analysis and insight on topical issues for total rewards, compensation, benefits and HR professionals.

While The Journal is distributed primarily to WorldatWork members, it also is available to academics in the fields of total rewards, compensation and benefits.
Journal articles:
- Present previously unpublished research that deals with timely issues and trends in total rewards, compensation, benefits and workforce engagement.
- Supply readers with relevant practice-oriented information and perspectives.
- Employ a clear structure that quickly shows readers the conclusions of the article, then provides the research and analysis that substantiate these conclusions.
- Present relevant data via clear and compelling graphics. (Final production of graphics is handled by WorldatWork staff and freelancers.)
Articles must:
- Range from 3,500 - 5,000 words.
- Not promote the author, the author’s organization or products, nor lobby for reader action on political, economic or social causes.
- Provide a short author bio and photo.
- Provide a bibliography of references that preferably follows The Chicago Manual of Style.
- Agree to participate in the double-blind peer review process.
- Work with editors on revisions.
- Meet deadlines.
- Sign an agreement.
