With over 35 years of HR experience, Catherine Peffen is currently SVP, Global Rewards & HRIS with Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation. In her role as Senior Vice President, Catherine is responsible for developing the strategy and executing against it for Compensation, Benefits & HR Information Systems ensuring Compensation programs align with the long-term business strategy and the HR infrastructure can support the strategic growth goals of MVW. 

Catherine had been with Marriott International, prior to the timeshare spin-off in 2011, for over 13 years, most recently in the role of Vice President, Global Compensation. In this role, she led the compensation design for Marriott's Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East/Africa operations, as well as MVCI, the vacation ownership business. 

Prior to joining MVW/Marriott, Catherine was the Human Resources Manager for GE Financial Assurance, a division of GE Capital. Her background also includes Labor Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Employment and Training in various financial services and insurance companies in Nashville, TN; El Paso, TX; Washington, DC and Orlando, FL. 

Catherine is an active speaker and trainer, on the faculty of WorldatWork teaching Strategic Business Understanding, certification courses C8 (Business Acumen), C1 (Regulatory Environment of Compensation) and former certification course C5 (Sales Compensation) and has conducted Labor Relations Leadership training. Most recently, Catherine serves as the Chair of WorldatWork's s Sales Compensation Expert Council and is past Chair of the Compensation Expert Council. Catherine has been involved in the Central Florida Compensation & Benefits Association as a past Board Member; SHRM; and WorldatWork in various capacities since college. She is certified in Adapted Aquatics, teaching disabled children and adults to swim. Catherine holds professional designations from WorldatWork (Certified Compensation Professional, granted 1993; Global Remuneration Professional, granted 2009; Certified Sales Compensation Professional, granted 2010; Certified Benefits Professional, granted 2012; Work Life Certified Professional, granted in 2013; Advanced Certified Compensation Professional, granted in 2014; Master Certified Compensation Professional, granted in 2014; and Certified Executive Compensation Professional, granted in 2017), PHR (Professional in Human Resources granted in 1989), SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional granted in 2015) and Health Insurance Association of America (Health Insurance Associate granted in 1992).
