Chris Brunson is the Vice President, Total Rewards at General Mills. In his role he manages all aspects of Total Rewards. Prior to this he was with Celanese, responsible for all aspects of Benefits and Wellbeing programming around the Globe. He was the Senior Director, Global Benefits and Wellbeing at The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY). In this role, Brunson is responsible for all aspects of Global Benefits and Wellbeing. Prior to this role, he led Talent Management for Hershey, including Talent Planning and Workforce Planning, Organizational Development and Performance Management, including assessments. He has also led Global Compensation for Hershey, where he was responsible for all aspects of compensation for all 20,000 employees around the world. Brunson brings an analytical evidence-based approach to HR to drive talent first solutions that support the Company’s strategies.
Before joining The Hershey Company, he held a variety of leadership roles within Kohl’s Corporation’s (NYSE: KSS) human resources department. Most recently, Brunson served as Director of Executive Compensation and Strategy, overseeing all aspects of executive compensation and HR strategy. Prior to joining Kohl’s, he worked as a consultant for Hewitt Associates and as clerk to the Honorable Judge Cane of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
He is a frequent national presenter on Total Rewards, HR Analytics and Design Thinking. Chris has been on the WorldatWork faculty since 2016, teaching the Executive Compensation Immersion Program.
Brunson received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Iowa and a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School.
