I.M. “Jim” Jawahar is chair of the Department of Management in the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. Jawahar received his Ph.D. degree from Oklahoma State University in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.

Jim has served in several administrative leadership positions. In addition, he served as the editor of Career Development International (2007-2022) for 15 years and continues to serve on editorial boards of several journals.

Jawahar has received several awards (e.g., SHRM Research Award) and professorships (e.g., Jack & Donna Rust Professor) for his scholarship. His research interest areas include performance appraisal, job performance and career issues. Jawahar has published more than 90 journal articles.
