LaMont Smith has over 30 years of experience as a human resource professional. After beginning his career as a Certified Purchasing Manager, he moved from the analysis and evaluation of technology equipment to a deep dive into job analysis and job evaluation. The bulk of his HR career has been spent leading HR and total rewards teams, allowing him to see rewards from both sides of the table. He has led the design and implementation of total rewards policies, practices, and systems for more than 100 countries. For the past 3 years, he was an adjunct professor of global total rewards for Masters of Human Resources students.

LaMont is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). He holds a BA in History from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Utah. LaMont is a member of the WorldatWork faculty. He favors principle-based approach to design and problem-solving in the world of total rewards.
