She studies interpersonal workplace issues especially related to bullying and experiences of sexual minority workers. Her research also encompasses workplace hazing and newcomer socialization. She co-authored a widely read human resource management textbook and has published in scholarly journals including Group & Organization Management, Employee Responsibilities & Rights Journal, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies and Personnel Review. Her research has been recognized with several best conference paper awards. She teaches graduate and undergraduate human resource management courses and serves as the adviser to the student human resources organization.
