In This Episode

How does empathetic leadership benefit organizations and the people who work in them? Why does our biology make it difficult to be empathetic in difficult workplace situations? Fortunately, we can all learn to be more empathetic, according to Katharine Manning, author of The Empathetic Workplace: Five Steps to a Compassionate, Calm, and Confident Response to Trauma on the Job. Manning spent many years as a senior attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice specializing in victim’s rights and services, and is President of Blackbird DC, which provides training and consultation on empathy at work.
