When analyzing habits of those organizations that were more transparent about pay in their internal job advertising, we found that:
;66% shared information about the operation of pay structures;
;59% did so about how jobs are slotted into these;
;39% shared information with individual employees about how their salary compares with the minimum, maximum or median for their grade or how their salary compares with the typical rate for colleagues in the same grade.;
It’s therefore fairly rare for staff to know more precisely how their pay compares with anyone else’s or, indeed, what other staff are paid.
