Senior Global Compensation Manager at Expedia Group

Justin Sun is a global compensation advisor at Expedia Group where he designs and implements rewards programs, including the company’s approach to pay transparency. He previously held roles in compensation and human resources at Salesforce, Nordstrom, Lockheed Martin, PepsiCo, and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. His key areas of interest include pay communications, job architecture, and performance management.

Justin serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Washington’s Continuum College where he developed a course on compensation and benefits, and he has been a guest speaker at The Conference Board, WorldatWork, and Workday. Justin holds a master's degree in industrial and labor relations and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Cornell University.

Justin Hampton is the Founder of CompTool, a salary survey manager and benchmarking tool with Squirrel, a collection of more than 40 million employer-reported pay ranges collected from job postings.

Before starting CompTool, Justin spent nearly 15 years as a compensation leader with companies such as Starbucks, Greyhound Lines, Big Fish Games, and Product Madness in the UK.  Justin believes that while compensation can be complicated, the best compensation programs are simple, practical, and should be understood by employees. 

Outside of Compensation, Justin is an avid traveler and plans to visit every country in the Americas in 2024.
