Amy Morgan
Certification Administrator

Amy Morgan’s interest in travel serves her well in her role as certification administrator at WorldatWork. She understands the journey of attaining a professional certification is nearly as important as the destination, the accomplishment itself. With her children almost fully grown, she is looking to turn her dreams of world travel into a reality.

Workspan: What is your primary role as a certification administrator?
A: As an administrator I am tasked with making sure customers have a positive experience while working toward earning their certification. I’m here to help in any way I can, whether that means answering questions, researching an issue that may arise or offering encouragement.

W: You’ve been with the association for more than a dozen years. We’re guessing you’ve seen a few changes. What have been the biggest changes you’ve seen in WorldatWork’s professional certification program?
A: When I first started with the association, we only had three certifications: CCP, CBP and GRP. (I think I dated myself, lol.) However, shortly after my arrival, we expanded our reach and currently have seven certifications. Amy This means I have the chance to work with professionals who work in many areas of human resources.

W: What are some of the most common questions you receive from members who contact you (or customer relationship services) about certification?
A: Some of the most common questions center around exams. Exams are an essential part to earning a certification. Customers want to know how long it takes to take an exam, how long before their exam expires and what the steps are to prepare for and take a retake. Customers also want to know about recertification. They want to know how the credits they have earned can be applied toward their renewal.

W: Are there any exciting changes ahead in certification for our members to anticipate (those you can share)?
A: Exciting changes are on the horizon in certification as we rethink the member and customer experience. As new technology emerges, we are looking at ways to modernize the way customers take exams, become recertified and streamline the certification process. We understand our customers’ time is important and we want to see everyone get the most out of it and still earn their certification.

W: What are some of your hobbies?
A: When I’m away from the office I like to travel. My biggest ambition for the coming year is to visit another country. The only problem is I haven’t been able to decide on a place. I want to go everywhere and see everything. Greece is high on my wish list. I do travel frequently to San Diego. I love the little hippie town that’s there (Ocean Beach). I am a beach person; the water has always drawn me in and has a way of washing away all the stress.

W: Your fantasy football team (Killer Queen) is tied for second place in the WorldatWork League. Does the name of your team derive from the Queen song, “Killer Queen?” If so, have you seen the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody?
A: Well, a little bit of information you may not know is I am WorldatWork’s biggest Freddie Mercury/Queen fan. So yes, the name absolutely comes from the song “Killer Queen” by Queen, “guaranteed to blow your mind,” every time! As for the movie, yes, I was there opening night. It was fantastic, gave me goose bumps. The actors they chose to play each of the band members was spot on. I do have an issue with Remy Malik, who played Freddie. His acting was great, but his face, although close, was too thin for my liking. If I’m being completely honest, I was moved to tears and would highly recommend this movie to others.
