A research experiment by Sears showed that employee satisfaction was related to customer satisfaction and store performance, principally due to the reality that dissatisfied employees had a negative impact on customers and satisfied employees had a more positive effect on customer loyalty and purchasing behavior (Rucci, Kirn, and Quinn 1999).
