
A WorldatWork faculty member since 1998, Dianna Smith has spent much of her career bridging academic insight with applied benefits and compensation strategy. She currently teaches a graduate-level Employee Benefits course at the University of Cincinnati and has also served as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University teaching Compensation and Benefits.
Previously, Dianna held leadership roles in benefits strategy and administration, including Senior Manager of Retirement for FirstGroup America, System Director of Retirement Strategy for Mercy Health, and Director of Benefits Planning at Nationwide Insurance. Her corporate experience also includes roles at Fidelity Investments, GTE (a predecessor to Verizon), and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
Dianna has authored numerous publications for WorldatWork, particularly on vendor management in the benefits space, and has earned the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP®) credentials. She holds a BS and MA from Ball State University and is the recipient of Ball State University’s Miller College of Business Award of Achievement.
