Jason Smith is a Principal Compensation Consultant with the Human Resources and Compensation Consulting practice of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., leading general workforce and sales compensation engagements. Jason draws on nearly two decades of in-house compensation experience across multiple sectors, joining the WorldatWork faculty in 2023. He has held compensation leadership roles at Gannett (USA TODAY), First Citizens Bank, Denny’s, and Palmetto Health (now Prisma Health), with special expertise in the design and administration of sales and broad-based compensation programs, incentive structures, and job evaluation methodologies.
A recognized leader in the compensation industry, Jason has contributed to the profession as President of the Chain Restaurants Total Rewards Association (CRTRA) and as an At-Large Board Member of the South Carolina Healthcare Human Resources Association (SCHHRA).
Jason is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP®), Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP®), Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP®) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP®). He earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.
