Tonja Stewart has more than 20 years of experience in compensation, with deep expertise in designing and implementing incentive and variable pay programs. She began her career in public accounting before transitioning to corporate accounting and audit, where she discovered a passion for compensation strategy and analytics.
Joining the WorldatWork faculty in 2023, Tonja shares her knowledge of variable compensation and Total Rewards strategy informed by her years in compensation leadership roles at BBVA, Regions, USAA, and Everbridge. There she developed performance-driven programs aligned with business goals and compliance standards with an approach combining analytical precision with strategic thinking to support effective pay-for-performance cultures.
Tonja is a WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP®), and Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP®). She earned a BS in Accounting from Jacksonville State University.
