Using Analytics to Fully Assess and Close the Pay Gap
Doing so produces four sources of the pay gap that can be separately analyzed to provide insights: The traditional, unexplained pay gap;A gap due to differences in the jobs occupied within a grade or band;A gap due to differences in the grades or bands occupied;A gap due to other differences, such as differences in experience or performance.; Mathematically, a set of regression analyses can be run to allow us to represent the percentage of the pay gap attributable to each of these four parts, which can provide further advice on next steps.

Pay Transparency and Pay Equality in the UK
When analyzing habits of those organizations that were more transparent about pay in their internal job advertising, we found that: ;66% shared information about the operation of pay structures; ;59% did so about how jobs are slotted into these; ;39% shared information with individual employees about how their salary compares with the minimum, maximum or median for their grade or how their salary compares with the typical rate for colleagues in the same grade.; It’s therefore fairly rare for staff to know more precisely how their pay compares with anyone else’s or, indeed, what other staff are paid.
