A Compensation Manager’s Quandary: Synchronizing Flexibility and Fairness
We chose to disclose median compensation instead of mean compensation, since our objective is to study compensation for a “typical” CEO in Europe, not to give an idea of the aggregate levels of CEO compensation in Europe (Murphy 2013).
