The compa-ratio is calculated by dividing an employee’s current base pay by the midpoint of the established salary range for the role: Compa-Ratio = (Employee Pay Rate / Pay Range Midpoint) This will generally illustrate the relative performance of the employee in relation to the pay scale, generally assuming a 40-point spread (80%-120%) for where competency lies, as described below: 80%- 87% ;New, inexperienced, or lacks educational background for the role.
