  • Receive a brief introduction to Power Query, Power Pivot and Macros.
  • See how to create an interactive analysis dashboard using Power Query, Power Pivot, icons, text boxes, elegant, uncluttered color-coded charts, customized slicers to drill down by level, department or location, Power Pivot median measures and three simple macro buttons that allow alternate pay base views of the data.
  • Obtain a starting template, instructions for replication of everything demonstrated, and the completed dashboard.

This course is ideal for HR professionals, compensation specialists or anyone seeking to create a dashboard to help tell a story regarding HR-related metrics. The course requires an advanced knowledge of Excel. Participants should have access to a computer with Excel 2013 or newer. Power Pivot and Power Query are standard from Excel 2016 onward, and they can be added into Excel 2013. The dashboard design principles taught can be used with any version of Excel and can be used with standard employee data and pivot tables. Power Query and Power Pivot are super-efficient tools for transforming data and merging different tables for use in analysis. You should already work with HR, Reward or payroll data in Excel regularly, and be experienced with writing Excel formulas and creating charts.
