Extrapolating this finding to organizational context, we anticipate that: 1) in organizations with a large population of younger employees, management has less control over the way information is shared and 2) in businesses with older employees, learning about pay is likely to occur when the organization rolls out or directs the pay disclosure (e.g., through managers, postings or overall sharing of the structure).
