Indeed, in its “2020 Compensation Best Practices Report,” PayScale reported that while only 19% of the 5,000 North American enterprises in its survey said they share full pay range data with their employees, over 35% of enterprises share level-specific pay range data (the range of pay for a given pay level or grade) — and for firms with over 5,000 employees, that proportion is closer to 45% (Stewart 2020).
